Aluminium composite material (ACM) panels are flat panels consisting of two thin, coil-coated aluminium sheets bonded to a non-aluminum fire rated core.
ACM panels are widely used in applications that require a combination of high structural stiffness and low weight. Typical applications are insulation of commercial and residential building facades, signage, interior partitions and exterior building cladding.
It is a simple and versatile product that, when used as an exterior wall, is weather and shock resistant, durable and easy to install. ACM panels also provide good thermal and acoustic insulation. Rigid foam CPVC cores for ACM panels made with TempRite® engineered materials do not require mineral fillers and therefore only account for 30-50% of the weight of mineral filled HDPE cores. What's more, foam CPVC has better fire performance, offers significant safety advantages and helps comply with increasingly stringent fire regulations.
ASTM E1354 Microcone Calorimeter testing shows that a foamed CPVC core made from TempRite engineered material provides A2 panel fire performance, emits less heat when burned, and proves to be more effective in controlling fires. The inherent charring behavior and low heat dissipation of the CPVC foam core means less fire spread, an important safety consideration.
