Aluminum composite panel is a sandwich panel consisted of two aluminium sheets bonded to a PE core or Mineral filled FR core, it's also called ACP or ACP cladding sheet in some regions. 4mm thickness is the standard thickness of ACP Cladding Sheet when it's used for facade cladding.

1. A 4mm ACP cladding sheet is more rigid in panel strength comparing to 3mm solid aluminium panel, but lighter in weight. 4mm thick ACP cladding sheet is about 6kgs/sq.m, but 3mm solid aluminium panel is 8.2kgs/m2.
2. 4mm ACP cladding sheet surface is roller coated with a PVDF or PE coating, which look consistent and smooth, but solid aluminium panel is powder coated which has a rough surface and might have higher chance to have color deviation.
3. Cost wise, 4mm ACP cladding sheet is lower cost than 3mm solid panels.
4. ACP cladding sheet can be fabricated a project site and make it easy to install, while solid aluminium panel has to be prefabricated in manufacturer's factory and in case there is mistake on any drawing, it's difficult to adjust panel at job site.
